I will survey a a group of people of varying ages. I will go through the contacts they have in their email account, cell phone and facebook(or equivalent) and record where each of the contacts are from.
I will also have a rating system for each contact listed to record how close the person feels towards the contact, and how up to date they feel they are with what the contact has been doing.
MAPPING
At this stage I think my map will have to be 3D, because I want to display the shifting scale between the physical distances between places versus the instantaneous connection made through the internet. I want to show the disfiguring of the physcial world (the removal of distance and time).
With the use of colour or material I will show the various types of relationships the person I am interviewing has wth their contacts.
I hope to create a map that means more than this
I like this map book made by 'the very day', it shows the physicality of the world (when the book is closed), but there is also room to show different sorts of connections through the cross sections.
